Legal access rights: Lachlan and Zeke

When Lachlan and his family were matched with Autism Assistance Dog ‘Zeke’, their lives changed forever. From a simple trip to the supermarket to the family’s first theme-park holiday, his mum Judy says:  “Zeke is Lachlan’s ticket to the outside world.”

“We could never go to the movies before. Now we go to the movies as a family and Zeke sits under Lachlan’s seat. Zeke has given us our life back as a family, and given Lachlan a chance. I shudder to think where we would be without Zeke.”

This month, in the lead up to International Guide Dog Day, we’re celebrating the life-changing moments made possible by Legal Access Rights.

Under South Australian law, accredited assistance animals including Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs can #AccessAllAreas. This enables people living with disability and their families can go where they want, when they want.

I need help

I thought that the room was really dark, but actually it wasn’t the room, it was me.

I know that I will be fine because if I need help, I have Guide Dogs to turn to.
