Guide Dogs wins Australia’s Most Trusted Charity – AGAIN!
For the second year running, Guide Dogs has been voted Australia’s Most Trusted Charity 2014, in the annual Australian READER’s DIGEST Most Trusted Brand poll.
Based on a survey of 2,400 respondents nationally, Guide Dogs was recognised for its industry-leading services, including providing guide dogs to Australians who are blind or vision impaired, for over 60 years.
Guide Dogs SA/NT Chief Executive Kate Thiele said it was truly humbling to receive the accolade.
“We are truly humbled by and grateful for this level of public trust and recognition in our vital work, which enables Australians who are blind or vision impaired to be more independent,” said Kate, – and for the second year in a row, too.
“Since Guide Dogs SA/NT was founded almost 60 years ago, we have worked hard to ensure inclusion, mobility and independence for people living with disability and will continue to do so.
“The trust we have earned is especially important in this new era of the National Disability Insurance Scheme – the community are comforted in the knowledge they are working locally, with a nationally trusted provider. It’s one more example of Guide Dogs taking the lead in disability care.”
