Guide Dogs Social Happy Hour – July
We’re pleased to announce three great Social Happy Hour sessions in July.
Our Social Happy Hours have become popular dates in the Guide Dogs calendar since their introduction in April.
Whether you’re a current or past Guide Dogs client, or considering a service from Guide Dogs, you’re invited to join our upcoming sessions via Zoom.
Zoom is fully accessible and can be used on your phone, computer or tablet from the comfort of your own home.
Each meeting has a different theme. Some are more educational and others are just for fun, but every session is engaging and a great way to stay connected in a relaxed atmosphere. Each session will run for 45 – 60 minutes and will be facilitated by a Guide Dogs staff member.
If you would like help joining a session, please contact Salina Shrestha on 08 8203 8347. Registrations are essential.

The Journey of Losing Sight and Finding Vision
Special guest, Sristi K.C. will share her journey as a dancer, choreographer, motivational speaker and the founder of ‘Blind Rocks!’ – a not-for-profit organisation working for the rights, dignity and empowerment of blind people in Nepal. ‘Change from within’ has been Sristi’s motivating mantra since age 16, when she lost her sight to Glaucoma.
Becoming blind changed Sristi’s life, but not her dreams. Sristi completed her education in mainstream institutions, winning gold medals in her Intermediate and Bachelor courses. She completed her post-graduation in Dance Practice, Knowledge and Heritage under the Choreomundus program, studying in Norway, France, Hungary and the UK.
Sristi has travelled to more than 20 countries as a motivational speaker, dancer and a trainer advocating for social change. She has won several awards for her work, including recognition from the WOW – Women Achievers in Social activism 2018, Youth Ministry of Nepal National Youth 2016 and Youth Excellence 2013. Her life and journey has inspired the 2018 biopic, ‘Blind Rocks’.
