We can support you with things such as: learning how to use your phone, cook a meal, get into hobbies and find your way from A to B independently. Below is a list of our services and support:

At Guide Dogs SA/NT we offer services to help you understand your vision diagnosis and how to achieve your goals, big or small.

We tailor our support to suit your needs, whether it’s one or several sessions, or ongoing support. Depending on your individual circumstances, your support might take place at home, alongside family, with your wider support team, or out and about in the community.

Depending on your personal situation, we can tailor the services to your needs. You or someone you care about may be diagnosed with, but certainly not limited to:

  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic Eye Disease
  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • Cortical Vision Impairment (CVI)
  • Age-Related Macular Degeneration
  • Hereditary Vision Loss, e.g. Retinitis Pigmentosa

We offer services across different age groups:

  • Early Childhood 0 – 9
  • School Aged 9 – 18
  • Adult 18+

Social and educational groups

Finding a support network of like-minded people who understand what you are going through can make a world of difference. We have an amazing community of clients that meet regularly in person and online through our social and educational groups, such as:

  • Social Happy Hour
  • Empowered Living Program
  • School Holiday Sessions

Our online Guide Dogs community platform “CatchUp” offers a safe space for clients, support workers and family members to connect. You can share vision tips, find accessible events and be supported to ask any questions you have or feelings you want to express.

What funding is available?

You may be eligible or already receiving funding from a range of sources including, but not limited to:

  • NDIS
  • My Aged Care
  • Children and Students with Disability (Department for Education)
  • Department of Veterans Affairs

Support for some of our services is also available through agreements with other support agencies, or our own charitable endeavours.
