Glamour session for life skills

Date | Time

About the event

The eyes have it! Looking your best and caring for yourself is important to any young woman.

However vision loss brings challenges in choosing the right clothes and colours, applying a touch of makeup and caring for yourself.

For young women, the journey to independence includes looking your best and knowing how to access health services.

A group of young female clients making the transition from school to tertiary study or other life journeys got together at Guide Dogs SA/NT recently to have a glamour session.

Information was provided to develop awareness about women’s health issues and how to access a General Practitioner and the dentist.

Our Occupational Therapists discussed wardrobe apps and other technologies that can assist with the organisation, washing clothes and ironing.

Tips were provided on what to wear and how to present yourself for job interviews and formal occasions.

The session was a great success with the group declaring themselves the Glamour Girls!

I need help

I thought that the room was really dark, but actually it wasn’t the room, it was me.

I know that I will be fine because if I need help, I have Guide Dogs to turn to.
