Theme: Gardening with low vision

Date: Friday 23 September 2022
Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Spending time in nature is linked to both cognitive benefits and improvements in mood, mental health and emotional well-being. A great way to get your daily dose of nature is by spending some time in the garden.

Following vision loss you may experience challenges with gardening in an existing space.

Let’s explore ways to make gardening fun and safe for people with vision loss. Including some tips and ideas of creating your own sensory garden

Gardening can still be an enjoyable and therapeutic experience after vision loss.

Held via Microsoft Teams, the platform is fully accessible and can be used on your phone, computer or tablet. Each session will run for 45 – 60 minutes and will be facilitated by a Guide Dogs staff member.

I need help

I thought that the room was really dark, but actually it wasn’t the room, it was me.

I know that I will be fine because if I need help, I have Guide Dogs to turn to.
