Guide Dogs SA/NT Paws Parade and Awards Ceremony

Date | Time
Thu 12 April, 2018

About the event

Guide Dogs SA/NT will celebrate International Guide Dog Day on Friday 27 April with our annual Paws Parade, honouring the amazing work that Guide Dogs, Autism Assistance Dogs and Therapy Dogs perform in our community.

The Paws Parade will be led by the SA Police Band, the Governor of South Australia, the Hon. Hieu Van Le AC, and the Minister for Human Services the Hon. Michelle Lensink walking with our inspirational dogs, clients, dedicated volunteer puppy raisers and home boarders, staff and supporters.

Departing at 9.30am from Guide Dogs SA offices at 251 Morphett Street, Adelaide, we’ll walk along Morphett, Franklin and King William Streets to Government House.

The stars of the day will be our 2017-18 graduates and retiring dogs, who will be honoured at an award ceremony in the Governor’s Gardens following the parade. We will also be acknowledging businesses in the community that have provided exceptional service to our clients, volunteers and staff with their dogs.

International Guide Dog Day is an opportunity to express our gratitude to the dogs who change the lives of people living with disability. We’d love to see lots of supporters alongside the parade route cheering on our beautiful dogs!

I need help

I thought that the room was really dark, but actually it wasn’t the room, it was me.

I know that I will be fine because if I need help, I have Guide Dogs to turn to.
