Paw Prints Autumn 2018

March 02, 2018

This edition of Paw Prints is dedicated to sharing some of the wonderful outcomes for our clients, made possible by you and your continued support of Guide Dogs.

I hope you enjoy reading about the lives you are helping to change. Lives such as Gianluca and his family. Gianluca was matched with Autism Assistance Dog ‘Jet’ late last year, and in their short time together Gianluca and Jet already share an incredible bond. Meet Gianluca and Jet on pages four and five.

“To bring Jet home to our family was one of the best (if not the best) moments of our lives since Gianluca’s diagnosis. We refer to Jet as one of the family now without hesitation!” Luke, Gianluca’s Dad.

Our Guide Dog Services program couldn’t exist without the commitment and dedication of a host of volunteers who take our gorgeous puppies into their hearts and homes. Puppy Raiser Natalie never thought she’d be able to take a nine-week-old Labrador puppy into her home and then give them back one year later. Natalie shares her life as a Puppy Raiser on page six.

Do you remember Arron and Neil? Neil, a generous friend and client of Guide Dogs, was so touched by Arron’s story in the 2016 Guide Dogs Christmas Appeal, that he pledged $15,000 if supporters like you could match his gift. Well, you overwhelmed us with your generosity and thanks to Neil and your incredible support, Arron was matched with Guide Dog, ‘Helix’ last year. Read how both Arron and Neil are going on page eight and nine.

Thank you for your support – you are the reason Guide Dogs are able to enhance the quality of life of people living with sensory disability, and children living with Autism and their families.

I need help

Help give the greatest gift

I’m looking forward to the future, and this Christmas I’m hoping to receive the greatest gift: a Guide Dog.
